Instant Staging is a choreographic composition project based in a site-specific model. Opened to professional dancers in the area of contemporary dance, it proposes an intensive week of experimentation and artistic creation having as playground the historical center of Torres Vedras.
Under the guidance of two renown international creators participants will have the opportunity to create a choreographic composition in the exploration of the urban space that welcomes them, while being given the opportunity to develop their technical skills and their own body language.
Instant Staging will run from July 29 to August 2 in the city of Torres Vedras with a final public presentation on August 2, starting at 9pm.

Are you Ready?
The Instant Staging Program will be held at Performact studios, four fully equipped studios for the development of dance training programs.
Performact is located at Rua Cândido dos Reis, nº 5, 2560-310 Torres Vedras (between Hospital Soerad and the train station).
The city of Torres Vedras is located in the western part of Portugal, about 45 minutes from Lisbon.
Dive into a one week intensive process of creation of a site specific performance in the city of Torres Vedras.
Lead by the two international choreographers Maté Mészáros and Isael Cruz Mata, the day will be taken as in a professional company environment: a morning class starting at 10:00h and than plunging into the creation process until 17:00h (with a 1 hour lunch break in between).
The participants may camp in A-dos-Cunhados together with participants of the Summer Intensive festival (camping gear is the own responsibility of each participant or can be rented from the organisation).
Meals can be provided upon pre-booking (Lunch in Torres Vedras, Dinners in A-dos-Cunhados).
The contribution for this one week process is 300€ (plus 8€ obligatory insurance, without meals).
The inscription is complete after successful reception of the fee by the organisation. Thereafter no refunds will be given after cancellation.

Born in Hungary, Máté Mészáros is a graduate of the Hungarian Dance Academy and from BCDA - Hungary. He has worked as a professional dancer for the Szeded Contemporary Ballet (1999-2003), Carte Blanche (2003-2008), Ultima Vez (2009-2015) and Leonina Imperial (2004). He teaches at various Dance Companies and Schools, such as the Company's Ultima Vez (BEL), Carte Blanche (NO), Unsusual Symptoms (GER), Gothe Theater Munich (GER), Central European Dance Theater (HUN), Budapest Contemporary Dance School (HUN) and Performact (PT). He is a regular guest at the international dance festivals Deltebre Dansa (ESP), Summer Intensive (PT), Supercell Dance Festival (AUS), Alias Summer Intensive (CAN), Venice Biennale (ITA), Revuelo (CHL) and Gdansk International Dance Festival (PL). Since 2010, he has been developing his own projects, presented at various international dance festivals. They are: Unite Space of Ambivalence (2018), InSoundOut for Central European Dance Theater (2017), NexToMe for Unsusual Symptons Dance Theater (2016), Hinoki (2014), Unkown Kingdom for Eva Duda Dance Company and OneManCrowd (2010). Dancer and creator of recognized merit, he has received several prizes such as Staféta Budapest for young talents (2018), best choreography at the Mono Dance Festival (2017), best dancer in Zoltán Imre prize (2003), best dancer in Veszprém Dance Festi-val (2001) and the Mária Keresztes Award (1999)
Cruz Isael Mata Rojas
Isael Cruz Mata was born in Caracas, Venezuela. He started his dance training in the Institut Supérieur de Danse de Caracas in 1992 and continued his studies at the Central University of Venezuela, where he followed classes in theatre sciences, fine arts and philosophy. He participated in classes of Ashtanga Yoga and travelled before coming to Belgium to become a member of the X-Group in P.A.R.T.S., directed by Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker. He studied circus techniques at the Ecole nationale du Cirque Annie Fratellini, physical therapy and psychology. He danced with several dance companies in Venezuela with Espacio Alterno, in Copenhagen with Tim Feldman, in Brussels with Enclave & Roberto Olivan, Josse de Pauw and Maria Clara Villalobos. He has worked with Michél Noiret Company since 2006. He also worked with artists the Nadine Ganase, Virginie Thirion, David Zambrano and Companies like: CTC, Mey-Ling Bisogno. Isael Cruz Mata created the production „Puzzle“ in 2005 and „Casa“, which had its premiere in Paris. He has been teaching Dance Release Technique, Flying Low, Acrobatic Dance and Contact Improvisation in Argentina, Venezuela, Mexico, Croatia, Finland, Germany, Belgium, Austria, France, Korea, Sweden, Netherlands and Cuba. Since 2003 he is also teaching at Dans Centrum Jette, Brussels in Belgium. He has been teaching professional classes and workshops at several contemporary dance companies and at international dance festivals: Ultima Vez - Wim Vandekeybus, Cie Philipe Saire, Lausanne-Switzerland, Company Thor, Smits, Need Company, Escuela superior de artes du cirque Lesac, Dance Conservatorium Antwerpen, International Tanztheaterfestival „Bühnenwerkstatt“ Graz, Tanzlabor 21 Germany-Frankfurt, La Raffinerie/Charleroi Dance, Tramplin project Hip Hop, Feria Música Circus Company, Conservatoire Music Dance Artesis Plantijn Hogeschool Antwerpen, Art Alive Kulturverein Austria, Danza Contemporanea de Cuba and at the Festival Summer Intensive in Portugal.
