1000 Pieces Puzzle

1000 Pieces Puzzle comes to Portugal !!

and will invade Performact in Torres Vedras in April 2019

Welcome to “1000 Pieces Puzzle”

What is “1000 Pieces Puzzle” about?

It’s a dance career bootcamp for emerging artists

Where did it start? Who is it aimed at? How does it evolve?

1000 Pieces Puzzle is an international exchange programme presented by Cindy Claes Productions and Zinnema in partnership with Performact.
Created in 2014 by dance backpacker and ADAD Trailblazer 2013-14 Cindy Claes, 1000 Pieces Puzzle is a unique professional development opportunity for dance artists offering five weekend sessions in Brussels and this year also a one week creative residency and exchange in Performact (contemporary dance performer intensive formation with a performance and dance space in Portugal).
This year 30 artists will be involved (15 from Belgium and 15 from Portugal) . They will spend 6 days working together to explore workshops in technique, choreography and collaboration as well as developing entrepreneurial and leadership skills.

The Portuguese participants have the special chance to win a Dancers Do Business scholarship and 3 personnalized Skype coaching sessions. The scholarship consists of an online course created by an artist for an artist, where you will learn all about application for fundings, essential management skills, from vision to action plan, step-by-step process for planning, managing and delivering creative projects. It is made of 45 video tutorials, 18 pdf's and 10 audio lessons.

The Skype sessions grant one hour of support from each mentor: Cindy Claes, Jan Wallyn and Performact. They will allow you to benefit from their expertise to set up your next project / show / event.

Who will lead the program?

The programme is led by Cindy Claes who is joined by an eclectic mix of some of the most exciting artists working in dance today, amongst others Ricardo Ambrózio (BE/PT/BRA), Piny (PT) and UK Hiphop pioneer Benji Reid .

What does it consist of? What is the main goal?

It’s a unique opportunity to experience and dive deeper into all different dance styles: hip hop, house, dancehall, afrobeats, waacking, krump, contemporary and many more

The artistic and technical orientation by Cindy Claes and other renown international artists will help to acquire working tools to improve your leadership skills and technicals skills as dancers, choreographers and producers and as such develop your own dance project as well as your professional career as an artist

Exchange and share knowledges, experiences and divers movement languages between artists of the two countries

As an apotheosis of the week there is a show moment.

Who are we looking for to participate in Portugal during this one week?

To broaden your artistic horizons, you will be working with fifteen Belgian students.
In Portugal we are looking for dancers and choreographers with the following prerequisites:
